Who We Are

The Jennifer Wilks Foundation is a 501c3 foundation. It was established in 2005 to honor Jennifer by raising funds for the charities that helped put a smile on her face during her battle with AML.

Our goal is to help the children who are cancer patients, and their families who are right now fighting a similar battle at the Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas.

What We Do

We provide and serve meals to the families on the cancer unit at the Dell Children’s Hospital every Wednesday of each month. This has turned into something special for these families and for us too! We served over 1600 boxed meals in 2021!

Each year, we grant a "Make A Wish" for THREE local children battling cancer here in Austin, Texas. Last year we helped to grant 6 wishes. One year, we granted Yazmin’s wish to go to New York with her family to shop, and then on to a special treat to see the Rockettes perform. We can GRANTED 75 WISHES since 2005!!

On Christmas Eve we serve a special Christmas meal. Last year was our 15th year and because of YOUR generosity, we were able to provide 37 children with Amazon Gift Cards, Christmas stockings and a Teddy Bears. We had 22 families at the hospital in 2021. We were also able to provide the parents with an Amazon gift card as well. We passed out a total of 59 cards to patients, siblings, and parents.

In keeping with our tradition, we also provided the families on the 4 north cancer unit, PICU, and NICU with a meal of turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a slice of pie. We served 75 meals. Special thanks to Hoover’s on Manor Road for the Christmas meal.

We are the main sponsor for the oncology teenage youth group called The Hungry Bunch. They do great work at Dell Children's Hospital that include monthly activities outside the hospital like their big camping trip each year. Jennifer loved The Hungry Bunch and we are proud to help these folks. We hope that this will come back next year due to lifting COVID restrictions.

With your donations we help support the “Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” and “His Grace Foundation” in Houston, Texas.

We support the Dell Children’s Christmas Party for the children on the Oncology Unit, including purchasing games, gift cards and toys. We are excited that this will happen this December!!

We support Camp Discovery and other cancer camps here in the area.
